\nCounting years in weird digits
\nFor seventies kids.<\/p>\n
An ipad “revolution”
\nLab grown meat, The Wire
\nErsatz breasts, sharp far-talkers
\nDisaster movies
\nPostmodernist IRL
\nAll the knowledge, free
\nPervasively known selves.
\nThis here we dreamed of,
\nThis is what we made of it
\nLet us say plainly
\nYes, We started this fire<\/p>\n
So, 2010
\nit was a sarcastic year,
\na salty green year,
\nbetter than I’d hoped for back when
\nI was sure I’d be
\ndead well before Thirty-Five.<\/p>\n
And for 2011?
\npenultimate year
\nof the fifth mayan world
\nThe end drawing near
\nour last full measure of year
\nas far as we know<\/p>\n
I wanted to write a poem
\nMaybe to impress you,
\nMaybe to impress me,
\nMaybe for the Mayans,
\nMaybe to impress the idea of 2011 which still seems impossible really because a little girl in the 70s is still waiting for 2000, the future! You never know for sure.<\/p>\n
Except for sure to get far out of me,
\nto get to that other place I have visited on occasion where the othermind-ness of poems takes over
\nBut now I broke my choka, and my words spilling around soaking the wrong side of broken choka staining the table, damn<\/p>\n
I am bad at this
\nOrganizing all these years
\nSingularities
\ncoming ever faster now
